!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It’s not a factory backed edition this time, but still.

They need to innovate their product line, not this. T o be fair it looks like they are somewhat trying to change things with the new concepts they released not long ago , but then they go do more of the same like this. It’s just not confidence inspiring.

yea, besides the tires sticking out I think it looks pretty good. but my point is that Harley shouldn’t be devoting time to this sort of thing. just go build some good bikes that do more than go in a straight line

Remember when pickups were work trucks and not fashion statements?

Those concept bikes are actually production bikes to be rolled out in the next couple of years which is good to see. I’m pretty optimistic about the direction Harley is trying to go. They have a ton of work to get past their terrible image, and get new younger riders in the door, but I think they’re off to a decent start and really hope they pull it off. As for this truck, this was probably a couple afternoons of a designers time at most, and will likely make them money so ¯\_()_/¯, why not?

It just looks like more of the same...it’s more about the message it sends than anything else. Those pre-production concepts are a step in the right direction, but they still have a lot of work to do. I hope that adventure bike isn’t nearly as heavy as it looks and I wish the electric bike look more purposeful (it just looks like they threw a battery pack under a bobbed H arley).

The only thing left to do is for Orange County Choppers to make a tribute b ike based on the tribute F 150 which in turn is based on a bike.

.... Went on a rant about how are the new bikes not different? , then realized you’re talking about the truck. Yeah, it kinda is more of the same, but it’s probably an easy money maker, and they still have that old customer base which they don’t want to completely drop yet. The transition is delicate and has to be slow, so a little of this (new stuff) and a little of that (same old same old) is probably what they need for a while.

Even as a “ millennial” I don’t want to see Harley go completely away from their traditional style bikes, I know that performance is terrible, but there’s still an appeal to that very old school type of bike to me, and after having owned a Sportster and ridden some of their other bikes I plan on buying one someday. It’s all a mentality thing IMO, if you can get past the idea that every motorcycle needs to be the lightest, fastest, most technologically advanced bike ever made, and just enjoy the simplicity of an old school bike they can be immensely fun. I’ve seen it said before, and it rings very true, Harley’s are factory resto- mods, all of the old school feel, but with more modern tech and better reliability.

I like old school simplicity sometimes, but it can’t be the only thing you do. I’ve only ridden a Harley once and I was ready to get off it after the 20 mile trip I took, just way too much vibration coming through the handle bars. My hand was pretty numb by the end of that short trip.

I haven’t looked at the new concept/soon to be production models, are they still using half a century  old engine technology?

Agreed %100.

I haven’t ridden any older Harley’s, but they’re newer rubber isolated ones aren’t bad IMO, certainly more vibration than my Warrior, but not enough to bother me. I can see why people don’t like it though.

Brand new V-twin platform, liquid cooled and DOHC, ranging in size from 500cc to 1250cc, so on the new smaller platform bikes I’d say no. On the big twins though they’re still running the Milwaukee 8, which is still based on the old air cooled design, but is actually pretty modern, at least compared to other air cooled big V’s .

Check out the new concepts, I like them quite a bit, so far they’ve shown off an a dventure bike, a street fighter, and a modernized Sportster/Scout competitor. Oh, then there’s the electric bike, lets not forget about that.

yes, trucks were not luxury sedans and crossovers were not the new cars
